How to Give Someone Robux? A Roblox Gift Giving Guide

Lindsay Hayes

There are a few ways to give someone Robux, but the best by far is buying a Roblox gift card for them. But if you're not feeling this, you can instead buy a game pass from them, or any items that they might have made: you'll have to pay for what they're selling in Robux, which will then fall into their account.

I don't really play Roblox anymore, so I recently gave all of the Robux on my account to my little cousin. The whole process was quick - I used the game pass method that I mentioned. But I also have bought and given away Robux gift cards as presents before.

If you'd like to know how to do all of this and some added information, you can read ahead.

How to Give Someone Robux?

There isn't a Donate button on Roblox, so you'll have to try a few workarounds if you want to give Robux away.

Method 1: Gift Robux Card

My favorite way to gift someone Robux is by buying them a Roblox gift card. You usually can find these cards at popular retail stores, like 7-Eleven, Walgreens, Target, Best Buy, Walmart, and the CVS Pharmacy.

But you can also try and buy them online, directly from the Roblox website, or Amazon and eBay. When buying them from online stores, I'd suggest that you be careful of the seller you choose, as you need to make sure that you are not being scammed.

Once your friends get your Roblox gift card order, here's how they can redeem it:

Most Roblox gift cards come with a clothing item that your friend can also redeem. I think this makes the gift cards extra worth it.

Method 2: Have Your Friend Create a Game Pass

Apart from gift cards, you can also buy any game passes that your friend has made. You'll have to pay for them in Robux, which will then fall into your friend's account. But the thing is, your friend will only get to keep 70% of the Robux that you spent - Roblox will take the rest.

Here's how you can get your friend to make a game pass:

Keep in mind that your friend won't receive your Robux straight away. It takes around 3 days for the payment to fall into their account. Also, remember what I said about how they don't get a full cut - 30% is taken by Roblox.

Method 3: Buy Items

Just like your friend can make game passes for you to buy, they can also make inventory items. However, not all users can go ahead and make these goods. Only users who have access to a premium subscription will be able to try this trick out.

A Roblox premium subscription costs around $5 and essentially lets you build new items, along with getting free Robux every month. You don't need a subscription to buy whatever they're selling if you're wondering.

Method 4: Make a Roblox Group (Transfer Group Funds)

Making a Roblox group is a cool way to give Robux to friends. I think it works well if you don't have Robux to give right now, but are planning on selling something to give your friend the cash.

Let's talk about how this works - you'll have your friend join a group with you, then you auction a game pass or custom item that you've made. The moment it sells, you can transfer the Robux that you made to your friend through the group transfer feature. But remember that you will first need 100 Robux to make the group.

What is Robux?

Robux is the in-game currency that Roblox uses. You will need it if you want to play certain games or take part in special events on the platform. Also, you're able to purchase upgrades for your avatar, build items, and buy special abilities with it.

At the end of the day, you can still play Roblox without Robux, but you definitely would be missing out.

As you saw from my article, you can have a friend donate Robux if you're not a fan of buying your own. But you can of course go ahead and buy the virtual currency yourself: just remember that you'll need to spend real money on it. The most basic package you can go for starts at $4.99, and you will end up with 400 Robux in your account.

There's also a premium membership that will top up your Robux wallet every month. It starts at $5 and will result in 450 Robux being added to your account.

You'll have to head to the Roblox payments page if you want to buy Robux. They take a few different payment methods, which include standard credit and debit cards.

If you're wondering whether you can earn Robux, the answer's actually yes. A lot of big Twitch streamers and YouTubers have giveaways for the virtual currency. If you win, you will get a Roblox gift card for free. You can also check Reddit threads for any giveaways that might be going on.

Is There a Limit to How Much Robux I Can Keep?

There's no limit to how much Robux you can buy per day, or how much of it you can have in your account. But that's as long as there are no parental permissions on your account.

If you have a guardian controlling your account, they can set limits through the Parent Controls page to limit how much Robux you can buy. It is a bit of a long process but is definitely something that can be done.

Answered below are some popular questions.

1. What is a Robux Generator?

A Robux generator is a tool that claims to provide free Robux, which as mentioned, is Roblox's in-game currency. These tools sound too good to be true, which they unfortunately are. They are completely fake - you can actually get hacked if you use them.

Roblox has strict policies against these fake Robux generators. Although they won't necessarily know that you've been using these tools, someone you know can report you. You'll face a penalty, like having your account temporarily suspended.

2. Do Robux Gift Cards Expire?

No, Roblox gift cards do not expire. You can use them whenever you want. I think this works great for parents who may have bought Roblox gift cards for their kids and forgotten about them or have stocked up on them for special occasions.

On the same note, Robux does not expire either. They will sit in your account until you are ready to use them. But keep in mind what I mentioned about how there are specific limits to how many Robux you can have on your account.

3. How Do I Give Robux to a Friend Without Group?

You don't need to use the group funds feature to send Robux to your friends. You can either buy a game pass from them, an inventory item from their catalog, or even buy and give them a gift card.

Just keep in mind for them to sell any items from their catalog, they will first need a Roblox premium membership. It starts at around $5 which I don't think is too expensive.

Final Thoughts

There are a few different methods that you can use to give Robux to friends. When it comes to gifting Robux, my favorite is buying digital gift cards. As mentioned, they don't expire, and it's pretty easy to redeem them. You can find them at quite a few retail stores, like Walmart and CVS.

But instead of going the Robux gift card route, you can get your friend to make game passes, and then buy them for Robux, send Robux through purchases on the avatar shop, or use the Configure group feature.

Hopefully, you found all of the points that were run through useful. I even ran through some additional information on the topic that you might have liked, like how you can go ahead and purchase Robux for yourself.
