Restart Your Computer<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Many problems that you face on your computer can be fixed simply by restarting the system. You've probably heard jokes centered around \"Have you tried turning it off and on again\", and that's because it actually tends to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Restarting a Windows PC should take less than a minute, and you can do it by following these basic steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Right-click the Start menu button in the bottom-left corner of the screen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hover over \"Shut down or sign out\".<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click \"Restart\".<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If you're using Better Discord on a Mac, do the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Click on the Apple menu.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose \"Restart\".<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Log_Out_of_Your_Discord_Account_and_Log_Back_in\"><\/span>2. If you don't have it on your computer anymore, you can download it from <a href=\"https:\/\/betterdiscord.app\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">the official website<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Press \"Agree\" on the screen with the license information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose \"Repair BetterDiscord\".<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Now, choose the build of the Discord app that you're currently using on your system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Finally, click on \"Repair\" and check to see whether it fixes the Better Discord problem that you're facing.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Remove_Custom_Themes\"><\/span>4. Here's how to get rid of them:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Launch Discord.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the gear icon to open the user settings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under the \"BetterDiscord\" section in the user settings panel, choose \"Plugins\" and\/or \"Themes\".<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Depending on the option you choose, you should see either \"Open plugin folder\" or \"Open theme folder\". Click on whichever you currently see.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This will launch your computer's file explorer and take you straight to the themes or plugins folder for your BetterDiscord installation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Delete all the files in these folders. Optionally, you could move them to another location on your computer for safekeeping, preferably out of the BetterDiscord folder.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_Reinstall_BetterDiscord\"><\/span>5. Reinstall BetterDiscord<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In some cases, nothing you try will work and you simply need to reinstall the BetterDiscord extension to set things straight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As long as you still have the installer for Better Discord, uninstalling is straightforward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here's how to uninstall BetterDiscord:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Run the BetterDiscord installer file.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Agree to the terms of service.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click \"Uninstall BetterDiscord\".<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Press \"Next\".<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make sure you have checks beside \"Remove from Stable\", as well as the two options under Additional Options.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Press \"Uninstall\".<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can then choose to uninstall Discord too, but that depends on you.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Once this process is done, you can install the extension again. The good thing is that you just need to choose the \"Install\" option from the setup this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"6_Reinstall_Discord\"><\/span>6.
