Improving Your Discord Skills"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>You can't just hyperlink text on Discord. You'll need to either use a bot, like Carl or go ahead and add web hooks to your server. To do either of the two, you'll need to first have the necessary server permissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I've been using the Carl bot on my server for reaction roles. But it's great that it can hyperlink texts too - I've used it a few times to hyperlink announcements from my Twitch channel to my Discord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My friend who's a new streamer actually asked me how I did this, and I broke it to him how easy it was. But before you try and use it, remember that you first need to have the proper permissions to invite it. So, you might not be able to work with them if you are only a server moderator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here's how you can invite the Carl bot:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/carl.gg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Carl bot website<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the login tab, and then enter your Discord account details<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once you've linked your Discord account, choose the Discord server that you want to invite the Carl bot to<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You should see a message asking you whether you would like to give Carl the necessary permissions. Confirm this by clicking the Authorize button<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fill in the Captcha on the screen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You should now see the bot on your server if you followed the above steps properly<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Here's how you can use the Carl bot for the text link formatting afterward:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Go to the Carl dashboard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scroll down and then click on the Embed option<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wait for the Embed Creator Box to open up<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the following into the description section - FORMAT - prefix [write the text you want to appear on the link] (paste the link here) - EXAMPLE - Check out my [YouTube channel] (youtube link)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scroll down, and then click on your server name and choose the text channel that you would like the hyperlinked text to go to<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Send Message to finish up<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Method_2_Discord_Embed_Link_Generator_Discord_Webhook_URL\"><\/span>Method 2: Discord Embed Link Generator (Discord Webhook URL)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also send hyperlinks by using webhooks. Basically, a webhook URL is an HTTP function that simplifies the communication between two applications. Discord lets you add webhooks between all sorts of sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regular Discord users can't use webhooks. You'll need to have the necessary server permissions first. Depending on your server, this might not even be something that moderators can do but only server admins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, to use a webhook, you'll once again have to use a third-party tool. I'd be telling you how to use the Discord Club site in my tutorial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here's part 1 of how you can create webhook a hyperlink:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Open your Discord app or the website version of the app<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to the Discord server that you want to hyperlink<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the Discord server's name<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select Server Settings from the drop-down menu that pops up<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the Integrations button from the left-hand side<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the New Webhook button<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Give the webhook a name, and then choose a channel that you would like the hyperlink text to go to<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy webhook URL<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the Save Changes button to confirm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Here's part 2 of how you can create webhook for hyperlinks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Once you've copied the webhook URL, you'll have to go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/message.style\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Discord Club website<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the Start Now button - you should see a welcome message<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to the Webhook URL section<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Paste the webhook link that you copied from the Discord application<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scroll down until you find the Embed Links section<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Now from the Embed Links section, head to the Description section<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the following into the description section - FORMAT - prefix [write the text you want to appear on the link] (paste the link here)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confirm the change<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You should see your webhook URLs on the text channel that you specified earlier, with your hyperlink<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Why_Doesnt_Discord_Let_You_Hyperlink_Texts\"><\/span>Why Doesn't Discord Let You Hyperlink Texts?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Discord doesn't allow hyperlinks, possibly due to security reasons. If they did allow users to send hyperlink messages, users would be able to generate hyperlinks and add IP grabbers behind their text links.
