But apart from this, you might be able to go to the Bot channel, and type in !Role, and then use a bot command like .iam to assign one of the server's color roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The thing is, you might not be able to change your name color on all Discord servers. It really depends on whether they have color roles set up. I have them on my server, so my brother who's a bit of a newb asked me why he couldn't change his name color on this new gaming server he joined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I broke it to him that it's not always available, along with all the ways that he can change his name color if a server does have this feature running. It really depends on whether the server in question has created color roles in the first place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But I have a hack for you - even if your server doesn't have designated color roles, they may have roles with specific colors assigned to them, like red for the Gamer role, or blue for Anime fans. Basically, you can react to this message with a specific emoji, and then get a designated color role assigned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For instance, if you want to make your name blue, the text might make you react with the blue circle emoji or a green circle emoji for the green role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A lot of the time, these reaction messages are pinned in the Roles channel somewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Method_2_Use_a_Bot_for_the_Desired_Color\"><\/span>Method 2: Use a Bot for the Desired Color<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead of messages that you can react to, you can potentially assign a custom color by using the !Role command. The server's bot should reply with all of the server's roles, which should include any custom colors that are available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From here on, you can message a moderator and ask them to change your name to one of their colors, or send a second command and assign the role yourself. This might not be something that you can always do, but on bots <a href=\"https:\/\/nadeko.bot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">like Nadeko<\/a>, you can enter the .iam role color to assign yourself a color option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_Do_You_Create_Color_Roles_On_Your_Server\"><\/span>How Do You Create Color Roles On Your Server?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you're a server owner, or just have admin privileges, you can create color roles for your server members. Not a lot of servers have color roles, so you'll have users keep coming back to you if you set this up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The process to follow is the same on the Discord mobile app, the desktop application, and the browser version of the platform. Here's how you can start creating roles:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Open the Discord app <a href=\"https:\/\/discord.com\/app\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">or site<\/a> (you can follow the below process on the Discord mobile app on both Android and iOS)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Log into your Discord account, and go to the Discord server that you want to create the color roles for<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the Server Name - the hamburger menu icon to be exact<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the Server Settings button<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>From the Server Settings screen, tap Roles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the Create Role button<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After you click Create Role, you should be taken to a new screen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Write a name for the new role, and then assign all of the appropriate permissions that you would like to it<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once you've given it the appropriate permissions, go to the Role Color section from the following screen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose from the different colors on the screen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the View Server as Role button to see how the new role would interact with existing roles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the Save Changes button to confirm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can now repeat the above steps for each color that you'd like to make<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you create the new role, there are 2 different ways that you can assign it to users. I would recommend the Hydra bot (the <a href=\"https:\/\/yagpdb.xyz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">YAGPDB.xyz bot<\/a> is another good choice). Here's how you can use Hydra:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/hydra.bot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Invite Hydra<\/a> to your server<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to Hydra's web dashboard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tap on the Reaction Roles tab, and then type 'Reaction Roles' into the configuration tab that you see<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose the text channel that you would like the reaction roles to be on (this can be the Request channel that the bot made when you set it up on your server or a specific Roles channel that you have made)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on Normal from the Type menu<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Head to Options, and then choose the Add Option button<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on Button<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set an emoji for the reaction role that you're setting up<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the Add Action button<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Here's part 2 of what you do:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Select Add a Role button<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose the Select a Role option from the drop-down menu<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Find and click on the color role that you're assigning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the Confirm button, and then Save to finish up<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>But instead of the reaction message, you can manually assign the new role to users yourself. Even with this, there are 2 different methods that you can try.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here's method 1:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Go to your server settings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on User Management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tap Members from the bottom right corner<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once you click Members, find the user's Discord name from your server members list<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go through all the multiple roles that you've made<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assign the role that you want, and then click the save icon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Here's method 2:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Open the Discord app or site<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to your Discord server<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the member's username from your chat<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the plus icon and assign any of your pre-selected colors to them<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, users can always use the Nadeko bot to change the name color in Discord themselves. But if this option is available, you use a reaction message, get a moderator to change the color of your name or use a bot command like .iam to add the role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to make color roles on your Discord server, this isn't that hard to do. Also, I think this will really help your server, as more users would want to talk about it. You can open the server's Server Settings bar, and then tap on Roles to create them.
