It was cut from a Spongebob Squarepants episode, where one of the background characters, Fred, sneakily looks behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I've been on top of Twitch emotes after I used POGo in the wrong context once. To make sure I never look like a newb again. I routinely keep myself in the loop on all the new emotes. It's one of the fish from Spongebob sneakily turning around. Most users send it when the Twitch chat is particularly unruly, to see if any moderators are around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But also, users send it whenever the stream gets uncomfortable, or if they want to use it in a \"who-asked?\" context to someone in the chat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Modcheck emote was first added to BTTV on September 2019 by VerbalSilence, and it became popular in 2020. The thing is, the Modcheck emote isn't available on it. This has to do with FFZ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.streaminal.com\/twitch-extensions-betterttv-vs-frankerfacez-vs-7tv\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">not supporting<\/a> animated emoticons. If it were on the extension, I'd say that the Modcheck's popularity would be way more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here's how you can use the ModCheck emote:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/betterttv.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">BTTV website<\/a>, and then download the tool (keep in mind that you can only use it on computers)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to the stream chat that you want to use the ModCheck emote on<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the Twitch chat settings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose BTTV from the list, and then authorize the extension<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go back to the BTTV settings window that you opened<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scroll down<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose the Emote option<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Turn on the Emotes button<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go back to the Twitch chat that you want to use the ModCheck emote on<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the smiley icon that is next to 'Chat'<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Look for the ModCheck emote from the list, and then click Enter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Why_is_The_Modcheck_Emote_Not_Appearing_On_the_Twitch_Channel\"><\/span>Why is The Modcheck Emote Not Appearing On the Twitch Channel?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a few reasons why this problem can pop up, and they include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Misspelled_Emoji_Name\"><\/span>Misspelled Emoji Name<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Usually, this problem pops up if you've accidentally misspelled the Modcheck emoji's name. So, you might have included something similar to Modcheck but not quite. Double-check this, and then try again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"No_BTTV_Extension\"><\/span>No BTTV Extension<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, the issue can be due to you not using the BTTV extension, and instead trying to search for Modcheck on the streamer's chat. I ran through how you can use the extension earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, keep in mind how the extension does not work on phones - this could be the cause of the problem, so head to your computer and try to look for the animated emote instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, the emote won't work if the streamer doesn't have a BTTV extension, or if they haven't activated the emote on their chat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Software_Problems\"><\/span>Software Problems<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure that you are not facing any software problems either.
