An Honest Review"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Turbo LAN is a rebranded form of cFossSpeed that helps apps run faster by dividing internet bandwidth. So, apps that use up a lot of data will be prioritized. While this sounds good on paper, it doesn't translate to reality and tends to fall short.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I had Turbo LAN on my computer. At first, I was excited when I found that it could manage internet traffic. However, I ended up getting disappointed once I started using it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In case you want to know more about the traffic analysis feature, you'll find the below section useful. In fact, several users have realized this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With that out of the way, here's a look at what Turbo LAN does (or tries to do):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Asus Turbo LAN prioritizes apps depending on their bandwidth requirements. So, they can be divided into low, medium, and high priority. If an app falls into the high-priority list, it will get more bandwidth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ultimately, this helps apps perform at an optimal rate. However, the tool doesn't do its job properly. This is a shame because if done right, it could minimize lag when you're playing online games, or even media streaming.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"350\" src=\"https:\/\/cpuforever.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Woman-Using-Laptop.jpg\" alt=\"Woman Using Laptop\" class=\"wp-image-5113\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cpuforever.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Woman-Using-Laptop.jpg 500w, https:\/\/cpuforever.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Woman-Using-Laptop-300x210.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Let's take a look at how Turbo LAN does what it does:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>It prioritizes high-speed internet connections according to 7 different protocol layers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It improves your transfer rates and lowers ping time by moving data around<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It can attach a driver to your operating system's network stack and ensures that all your internet data packets flow through it<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It can recognize when applications try to slow down others<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It can rebalance connections and return network speeds to normal levels by monitoring certain programs. This means that they don't eat up your internet traffic allocation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Is_ASUS_Turbo_LAN_an_Effective_Tool\"><\/span>Is ASUS Turbo LAN an Effective Tool?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As mentioned, I don't find cFossSpeed, aka Turbo LAN to be effective. I would even go as far as to call it bloatware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, it wouldn't be fair if I didn't mention the maximum upload <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfos.de\/files\/cfosspeed-traffic-shaping-report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">test<\/a> that the cFos team did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They measured the ping times during uploads with Turbo LAN running, then compared their ping while Turbo LAN was turned off. The final results showed that when the app was turned on, their internet speed increased by 3-10 fold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although this sounds great, I'm skeptical of the results. The tool never managed maximum upload speeds like that for me, or for my friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_Do_You_Install_Turbo_LAN\"><\/span>How Do You Install Turbo LAN?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I don't see any reason to install Turbo LAN, but it might be something you want to try.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have an MSI device, you already have Turbo LAN on your computer. It automatically comes with the pre-installed Dragon Center app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here's the thing though - you can't download Dragon Center app <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msi.com\/Landing\/dragon-center-download\/nb#:~:text=My%20Device,compatible%20for%20all%20MSI%20products.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">unless you have<\/a> an MSI device. So, forget it if you have a different type of computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a blessing in disguise, though, as the app is known to be buggy. Plus, remember that ASUS Turbo LAN doesn't work well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_Do_You_Uninstall_Turbo_LAN\"><\/span>How Do You Uninstall Turbo LAN?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Just like any other app, you can use your computer's control panel to remove it. Here's how:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Click on the search bar from your Windows taskbar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter 'Control Panel' into the dialog box<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hit the Enter button<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to Programs, then Programs and Features from the menu that pops up<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Find Turbo LAN and then select it<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the Uninstall button next to it<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confirm the change and wait for the file to be removed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_are_the_Disadvantages_of_Using_ASUS_Turbo_LAN\"><\/span>What are the Disadvantages of Using ASUS Turbo LAN?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While it's not very efficient, ASUS Turbo LAN constantly works in the background. So, it can use up your RAM and CPU resources. Ultimately, this will make your OS sluggish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some other issues:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Incompatibility with some other applications, like online games<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Frequent crashes, especially when playing online games or media streaming<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The program not working or appearing in the Control Panel (I've touched on how to deal with this later on)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"350\" src=\"https:\/\/cpuforever.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Person-Coding-on-a-MacBook-Pro.jpg\" alt=\"Person Coding on a MacBook Pro\" class=\"wp-image-5112\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cpuforever.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Person-Coding-on-a-MacBook-Pro.jpg 500w, https:\/\/cpuforever.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Person-Coding-on-a-MacBook-Pro-300x210.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Can_You_Use_Instead_of_the_ASUS_Turbo_LAN_Software\"><\/span>What Can You Use Instead of the ASUS Turbo LAN Software?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Considering that Turbo LAN doesn't really work, what should you do if you want a legit traffic shaper? I've reviewed two options that actually work below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1_Net_Limiter\"><\/span>1. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.netlimiter.com\/download\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Net Limiter<\/a><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Net Limiter lets you manage an app's upload and download speeds. If you want, you can also block certain apps from hogging up all your bandwidth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus, you'll be able to set quotas (internet budgets) to whatever apps you want.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just like any good network traffic tool, it gives you a visual arrangement of your internet processes. This will tell you which apps favor bandwidth the most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It works on different operating systems, client protocols, and server protocols. It's not that expensive either. You'll only have to pay $30 for a 2-year subscription.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Net_Balancer\"><\/span>2. <a href=\"https:\/\/netbalancer.com\/download\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Net Balancer<\/a><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Net Balancer uses deep packet technology to allocate internet bandwidth to high-priority apps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It not only manages internet connections but can also give you a detailed look at your upload and download history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Net balancer encrypts your internet connection thanks to the TLS internet protocols that it uses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It's a bit more expensive than Net Limiter. However, it's still affordable at around $50.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Net Balancer works on different operating systems too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Do_You_Do_if_You_Cant_Uninstall_Turbo_Lan_From_Your_PC\"><\/span>What Do You Do if You Can't Uninstall Turbo Lan From Your PC?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Although it's relatively simple to uninstall Turbo LAN, I've heard that some users can't get rid of it. For example, when doesn't show up in the control panel's list of apps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Usually, this happens when another program prevents it from being removed. System bugs and glitches can also be responsible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I've got some fixes that can help below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Solution_1_Restart_Computer\"><\/span>Solution 1: Restart Computer<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It could be a system glitch that you're dealing with. If this is the case, fixing the problem is easy. All you have to do is restart your PC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click on the Start button, hit the Power option, then click Restart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Solution_2_Update_Windows\"><\/span>Solution 2: Update Windows<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You should regularly update your OS, or you'll have to deal with annoying bugs. If you're using an outdated OS version, you would have been getting update prompts. Here's how you can fix this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Select Start<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on Settings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the Windows Update button<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select Check for Updates<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go ahead with the download process if there is a new OS version<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Hopefully, you'll be able to get rid of Turbo LAN installation folder now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Solution_3_Use_a_Third_Party_Uninstaller\"><\/span>Solution 3: Use a Third Party Uninstaller<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If the internet traffic tool is still not budging, I suggest using a third-party uninstaller.
