There are three major ways you can do this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>You can right-click on the Taskbar and select \"Task Manager\" from the options.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can press the key combination of Ctrl + Alt + Delete, and then click the \"Task Manager\" option.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can use the search box or the Start menu and search for \"Task Manager\". On Windows 11, this is the second icon from the top.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From the Performance tab, click the \"Memory\" tab from the left sidebar. This page will show you more about the RAM stick or RAM sticks in your computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For instance, you can see your RAM size in the top-right corner. However, if you look at the bottom of this window, there will be basic information like how much memory is currently in use, as well as how much is available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Perhaps the handiest thing this window presents you with is the ability to check your RAM speed, how many slots on your motherboard are being occupied by RAM sticks, and what RAM form factor you're currently using.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It's so cool to have the ability to see these specs. The installation file is less than 2 MB and has a lot of great information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To use it to check your RAM information:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Download CPU-Z from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cpuid.com\/softwares\/cpu-z.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">the official website<\/a>. I recommend choosing the Setup file and not the ZIP file.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Install and open CPU-Z once the download has completed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the \"Memory\" tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Here, you can see all the details on your computer's RAM sticks. For instance, the RAM type, the amount of RAM you have, and even the number of channels being used. You can also take a look at more advanced RAM specs here and in the \"SPD\" tab.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>CPU-Z is a pretty cool option to go with because apart from the memory section, you can take a look at CPU, motherboard, and graphics device information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_From_the_BIOS\"><\/span>5. From the BIOS<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If your PC hasn't booted up yet, you still have one way to take a look at RAM info. That's by using the BIOS. This can also come in handy if you can't boot into Windows for some reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can only access BIOS when your computer is starting up. Once it passes the point with the manufacturer logo on the screen, you won't be able to, unless you restart the PC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How to access the BIOS depends on your manufacturer, but there are a few keys that you can use. As soon as you turn on your PC, press any of the following keys multiple times, or simply search online for the button your manufacturer opts for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Delete<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Escape<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>F1<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>F2<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>F10<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>F12<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you've got into the BIOS, you need to look for a section called \"RAM\" or \"Memory\" settings. This depends again on the manufacturer. Laptop and desktop computers come with a variety of different BIOS layouts. You might also find what you want under an \"About\" or \"System Info\" menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you find the Memory settings, you'll be able to see how much RAM your PC has in total, and typically not more than that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"6_Using_Windows_PowerShell\"><\/span>6. Using Windows PowerShell<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Windows PowerShell can pull data on your RAM and the RAM type you have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is somewhat similar to command prompt, at least on the surface. So, if you normally use command prompt, this should be easy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Open the Start menu or Windows search bar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Type in \"PowerShell\".<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open the option.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy the following text: Get-CimInstance -ClassName Win32_PhysicalMemory | Format-Table Capacity, Manufacturer, MemoryType, FormFactor, Name, Configuredclockspeed, Speed, Devicelocator, Serialnumber -AutoSize<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Paste it into the PowerShell Window.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Press Enter.
