How you do this depends on the platform. However, once this is done on your PC, go to \"My Account\", click the dots, and then \"Copy ID\". In the mobile app, select your user profile and then \"Copy ID\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A friend of mine is into software development, and some fun projects he found involve making Discord bots. Some of these bots required him to find his User ID, so he came to me for help on how to do this. I've made a few bots of my own, so it was easy for me to show him how to enable Developer Mode and find his User ID.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you're like my friend, you might be trying to figure out how to find your Discord ID. You're in the right place. I will show you how to find your Discord User ID whether you're using a computer or a smartphone. While it is possible to do this on both mobile and PC, there are some steps to follow to get to the point where you can copy the ID.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regardless, I'll guide you through all these steps, whether you're using your phone or a computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Using_Desktop_App_or_Website\"><\/span>Using Desktop App or Website<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The method to find your Discord ID are pretty much the same whether you're using the desktop app or the regular Discord website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first thing you'll need to do is enable Developer Mode:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Click on the gear icon in the bottom-left corner to access user settings.<\/li><li>From the left sidebar, under the \"App Settings\" section, select \"Advanced\".<\/li><li>Turn on the toggle beside \"Developer Mode\" to enable it.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"350\" src=\"https:\/\/cpuforever.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Discord-Developer-Mode-Enabled.jpg\" alt=\"Discord Developer Mode Enabled\" class=\"wp-image-3276\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cpuforever.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Discord-Developer-Mode-Enabled.jpg 500w, https:\/\/cpuforever.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Discord-Developer-Mode-Enabled-300x210.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>After enabling Developer Mode, locate your Discord User ID. This can also work for other Discord users, and not just you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Right-click your profile picture.<\/li><li>Select \"Copy ID\" from the options that appear, and paste it wherever you might need it.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, keep in mind that to get a message ID, you can right-click on a message and select \"Copy ID\". The same applies to servers. You can do this by swiping to the right.<\/li><li>Select your profile picture. You'll see it in the bottom-right corner.<\/li><li>Now, if you're on iPhone, scroll, and tap \"Appearance\". Just like on desktop, you can get the Discord IDs for other users too. Follow the steps below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Find the user whose ID you want to copy. Tap their profile picture.<\/li><li>This will bring up a panel with their profile info. Tap the three dots in the upper-right corner of this panel.<\/li><li>Tap \"Copy ID\" to copy it to your clipboard. You can paste it wherever you need it.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Just like on a computer, you can also get a message ID, or server ID once you've enabled Developer Mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the message ID, just long-press on a particular message and select \"Copy ID\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For a Discord Server, you will need to open the navigation menu first. In the top-right corner, click on the three dots beside the server name. Select \"Copy ID\" near the bottom of the menu that pops up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"350\" src=\"https:\/\/cpuforever.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Obtaining-User-IDs-Mobile-App.jpg\" alt=\"Obtaining User IDs - Mobile App\" class=\"wp-image-3271\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cpuforever.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Obtaining-User-IDs-Mobile-App.jpg 500w, https:\/\/cpuforever.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Obtaining-User-IDs-Mobile-App-300x210.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_a_Discord_User_ID_Number\"><\/span>What is a Discord User ID Number?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Your Discord User ID is an 18-digit number that is unique to your account on Discord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a user on Discord, you'll have a User ID, but Discord IDs are also assigned to Discord servers, channels, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most people won't need to use their Discord ID, so although it can be accessed through the Discord app, it is not that easy to find.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Is_Discord_User_ID_Different_from_Discord_Tag\"><\/span>Is Discord User ID Different from Discord Tag?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Discord IDs are different from Discord tags.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While I've described what your unique Discord ID is, a Discord tag is a combination of your username, a hashtag, and finally a randomly generated four-digit code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, this tends to look something like USERNAME#1234. However, the app uses these unique IDs to identify messages, servers, and users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, developers can make use of these IDs frequently, especially when developing bots. These IDs can be used to give a bot permission to interact with a specific user, or when using a server's ID, only a specific Discord server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are rare instances where Discord Support might need your ID to help your resolve an issue. Don't worry, you can give it to them.
