Install the latest graphics card driver and see whether this helps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although I have not faced the error before, it used to pop up on a friend's computer. signal issue, and they include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" Most likely, you didn't plug it in properly, or there is dust stuck between the cable and the port you have connected to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here's how you fix this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Unplug the displayport cable from your computer<\/li><li>Use a compressed air can to remove foreign materials from the displayport<\/li><li>Re plug the cable back in<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In case you're using a displayport adapter, plug your cable back into a different port.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If that didn't do the trick, go ahead and restart both your computer and monitor screen. You might be dealing with an isolated glitch which can be fixed this way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To restart your monitor, unplug its power cables from the power source, wait about 10 seconds, then plug it back into the outlet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Solution_2_New_Support_Driver\"><\/span>Solution 2: New Support Driver<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Most external monitors have native drivers that power their components. All you do is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Unplug your monitor from the displayPort port<\/li><li>Press the Windows logo key + Ctrl + B buttons at the same time (your display should go black for a few seconds, and you should hear a beep)<\/li><li>Plug the displayport cable back in and make sure it is connected properly<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In case you're wondering, the above steps will help regardless of the driver that is installed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Solution_4_Update_Your_Monitor_to_Latest_Version\"><\/span>Solution 4: Update Your Monitor to Latest Version<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There may be a monitor update that you have accidentally missed. If you're not sure whether about this, check if there is new firmware online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The process to update your display will differ depending on the model that you own. Your instruction manual should have a detailed guide on what to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Solution_5_Update_Driver_Updates\"><\/span>Solution 5: Update Driver Updates<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You will also need to download new firmware for your monitor drivers. They may be outdated and bugging out. The process to follow is easy. However, you will need an internet connection first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are 2 ways to get the job done:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Right click on the Start menu icon or press Windows + X buttons<\/li><li>Select Device Manager from the Quick Access Menu that appears<\/li><li>Expand the Display Adapter category<\/li><li>Right-click your display<\/li><li>Select the Updates button<\/li><li>Select the Search Automatically for Drivers button<\/li><li>Wait for the process to be done<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Or:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Click on the magnifying glass on your computer's taskbar<\/li><li>Search for Windows Updates<\/li><li>From the Windows Updates section, search for \"Search for Updated Drivers on Windows Update\" option<\/li><li>Wait for the process to be done (it can take a while)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" src=\"https:\/\/cpuforever.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Black-Flat-Screen-Computer-Monitor.jpg\" alt=\"Black Flat Screen Computer Monitor\" class=\"wp-image-2110\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cpuforever.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Black-Flat-Screen-Computer-Monitor.jpg 500w, https:\/\/cpuforever.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Black-Flat-Screen-Computer-Monitor-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Solution_6_Roll_Back_Graphics_Card_Driver_Update\"><\/span>Solution 6: Roll Back Graphics Card Driver Update<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Although updating your graphics driver can help, this can also cause the problem. If you did this recently, you may have downloaded unstable firmware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The only way to sort this would be to roll back the driver to a previous version:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Press the Windows key + X at the same time<\/li><li>Select Device Manager from the menu that pops up<\/li><li>Right-click your driver from the Display Adapters menu<\/li><li>Select Properties<\/li><li>Head over to the Driver tab<\/li><li>Click on the Roll Back Driver button<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Solution_7_Contact_the_Monitor_Manufacturer\"><\/span>Solution 7: Contact the Monitor Manufacturer<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Last but not least, contact your monitor's manufacturer. You might be dealing with a hardware issue. Depending on your device warranty, you should get the issue fixed for free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also contact a reputable repair shop near you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just keep in mind that you will have to hand your screen to them for a couple of days to even weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cpuforever.com\/resources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Read more resources<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Final_Thoughts\"><\/span>Final Thoughts<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Fixing the error message is easy. Your displayport monitor may not have a stable connection, so removing and reattaching the cables can do the trick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, you may be dealing with a software issue. Visit your monitor manufacturer's website and check whether there is an update to download, or if there is a driver that you need for your operating system. You can install driver easy with my instructions above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apart from software issues, the displayport signal error could be due to hardware issues.
