How to Copy Games on Roblox? Here's A Quick and easy Guide
Lindsay Hayes
In the past, I've used the Synapse X software a few times to copy games on Roblox, and it's worked like a charm. But with the latest Roblox updates, it no longer seems to work. Apart from that, there are a few other software that I've used, like Asset Copier for instance. But once again, it doesn't seem to work anymore.
The reasons are obvious though, copying games on Roblox violates their terms of service and can even result in you getting banned from their server. So it makes sense that they would try to limit this as much as possible. But, if you are still interested, I've run through all the methods that used to work for me in the past. You can give them a try, and maybe some of them might work for you.

How to Copy Games on Roblox?
Stealing someone else's Roblox game can get your account banned if you're reported. You'd be stealing intellectual property after all, which breaks that platform's terms of use.
Instead of straight up copying someone else's Roblox game, you can always create a brand new game of your own inspired by other users' work (more on how later).
But if you're fine with taking the risk and want to copy a game, you can use the Synapse X Software. I've personally have had luck with it - it's free and a very convenient software, making it good for newbies. Here's what Roblox players can do to copy a game:
Open Roblox - click on the Puzzle icon on your home screen and log into your Roblox profile
Once on your Roblox account, find the Roblox game that you want to copy
Click on the game's title to launch it - the desired game's details page should open from the Roblox studio now
Join the game
Launch Synapse X and then add the following command - Saveinstance((decomptype - new))
There should be a pop-up saying 'decompiling scripts'. Wait for it to load to a 100%
Exit out of the Roblox game
Go to File Explorer on your computer, and then head to the Synapse X folder
Click on the Workspace file - you should see that the software saved the Roblox game that you copied
Open the game file
You should have Roblox Studio automatically open with the game on Roblox that you copied
What Are Some Other Methods That You Can Try?
Depending on who you speak to, there are a few other methods that you can use to copy Roblox games. I think the Synapse X is the most reliable of them, but let's talk about the other tricks that you can try.
Roblox Tools
To start off, you can use the Roblox Tools software - it's free and not that complicated to use. Here's how you use the Roblox tool.
Download the Roblox Tool's game copier
Extract the downloaded file
Launch your browser
Enable developer mode by clicking Ctrl + Shift + J at the same time
Select the Load Unpacked button (on the top right of the page)
Click on the extracted file
Log into your Roblox account
Search for the game on Roblox that you want to copy
Click on the puzzle icon button on your browser
Select Game Copier
The Roblox studio should open with your game copied
Select the Choose File button
Choose Save as
Launch Roblox studio, click on File
Select Publish to Roblox
Upload the copied file
Asset Copier Software
Asset Copier lets you inspect a game's code, and then copy it.
Although you can use it on Roblox games, keep in mind that it only works on Roblox games that haven't been locked by the author.
A locked game is basically a setting that the game author set up to stop anyone from trying to steal the original game.
Here's how Roblox players can copy Roblox game:
Launch the game on Roblox that you want to copy
Right-click anywhere on the screen
Click on Inspect Element from the drop-down menu
An overlay will pop up on the screen
Click on the Network tab at the top
Press the Ctrl and R buttons and wait for some web files to pop up
Look for the file with the name of the game you want to copy - should be on the top of the list
Open the game file when done - it should automatically launch in Roblox Studio
How Can You Copy Your Own Roblox Game?
If you've made a game before and want to copy its code, this is easier than trying to copy someone else's game. You can base a new game on the old game. All you have to do is:
Click on the Edit button at the bottom of the screen
Edit the game how you want
Go to File once you're done with the editing
Select Save As
Go back to File
Click the Publish to Roblox As button then upload the file
How Do You Create Your Own Roblox Game?
Instead of trying to copy someone else's Roblox game, you can always try and create your own game from scratch. A good starting point would be to go through a few public games and make note of the features in more successful ones, using them as features to add to your own game.
Here's part 1 of what Roblox users can do to start making games on Roblox:
Launch the free Roblox studio
From the Roblox studio, click on the All Templates button from the drop-down menu
Select Line Runner, or any other game template to base your own game off of
You should see your avatar appear in the Roblox game along with a 'Press Space to Start' button
Here's part 2 (how to customize your Roblox game)
Click Stop to return to the Roblox Studio main screen
Locate the Explorer Window on the right-hand side - you should see a file hierarchy
Click on the Workspace option
Click on the grassy area on the map. If there is a blue box on the screen, this means that the Roblox game is ready for modification
Click on the drop-down button just below the Material Heading option
Select Grass, then choose whatever color you want, and then choose different items on the game that you want to modify
You can change the game lighting too - open the Lighting option, and then change the clock time from the Properties window
You can also add the start section (the platform players spawn in). Open ReplicatedStorage > PathModules > StartModule
Click Start, and then drag the Start option to the Workspace menu
You should see two Walkway files - launch them, and then make any changes that you want
Click the Save button and then press the F5 button to test your game on Roblox
FAQ
Answered below are some popular questions.
1. How Do You Know If You're Banned On Roblox?
You'll be hit with a 'Not Approved' message when you try to log into Roblox. Roblox bans sometimes aren't forever, so there's a chance that you'd just be locked out of your account for a day or two, but if you have a history of copying games, you can eventually get permanently banned if you've been reported that many times.
The good news is you can try and appeal the ban. All you have to do is reach out to the Roblox moderation team, and tell them that you'd like to appeal the ban. Just remember that you can only appeal the ban if you're within the 30-day window where it was issued.
There are a few different ways that you can use to copy games on Roblox, like using the Synapse X software, or the Asset Coppier tool. But I would generally advise you against this. Remember that you would pretty much be stealing another user's intellectual property. So, you can not only get suspended but even banned from the platform.
Like I said, I'd advise you to instead go with an original game but sprinkle in ideas and themes from other successful games in there - this will help yours be a hit, while also preventing you from fully stealing someone else's intellectual property.
Also, as I mentioned earlier, most of these methods might not work anymore, but you could give them a shot just to be sure.
